How do you treat LLMs?

Prompt engineering is the art of crafting questions or instructions to elicit specific types of responses from a large language model (LLM) like ChatGPT. It's a crucial skill because the way you phrase your prompt significantly influences the quality and relevance of the LLM's response. Effective prompt engineering leads to more accurate, detailed, and useful answers.

Furthermore, prompt engineering principles are universal and apply to all LLMs, not just ChatGPT. So, if you're using ChatGPT, Claude, Llama, or any other LLM (or LVM), you can use the same techniques to get better results.

The way you write your prompt is the most important factor in getting the best results from your LLM. In fact, a well-written prompt for a general model can compete (and beat) with a fune-tuned model, as demonstrated in The Power of Prompting by Microsoft Research1. So, let's learn how to write great prompts!

The responses to all prompts are generated using ChatGPT 4. They should work with any LLM, but your results may vary. Also, the responses can be shorter, compared to the ones generated, due to brevity.
